My Motto
My Story
My father used to say that cooking is a way of expressing love. It wasn’t until after he passed away in 2007 that I started to really catch the heart of what he was saying. My grandmother was a terrific cook, and I grew up around some of the most amazing women, whose cooking was so good it made you wanna slap somebody! (That’s code for I grew up in church!)
My family is originally from Alabama, but I was born and raised in California. My husband affectionately refers to my home state as “Calibama”. That means I love salad (California) and Collard Greens (Alabama). So fast forward a whole bunch of years…..and here I am.
Over the years, I have developed a love for sharing my heart with the people I share my life with. That includes my immediate and extended family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, etc. I share my heart with my food. I put my heart and soul into every dish I prepare. If I make you a pie, you’re going to taste the sweetness of love in every bite. If I make you a pot of soup, you’re going to feel the warmth and care it was made with.
My motto is simple: “Put your heart into every dish.” I call my kitchen the Love Lab. I’m excited to share my heart, recipes and Love Lab with you.

Nothing is more fulfilling than living the life you were created to live. Nothing brings a bigger smile to your face than showing up for your world, authentically and consistently. Authenticity is a journey, not a destination. Why? Because we are constantly growing and changing. Every day brings new experiences and challenges. As we navigate through them we learn more about ourselves and who we are. Our priorities, values, and core beliefs are exposed and we have the opportunity to enforce what’s working and adjust what’s not. My vision is to see you discover who you are; embrace and fall in love with your purpose and passion; live every day to the fullest, and extend grace to yourself and others on this journey.
