The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie

Servings 2 dozen

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar (dark or light)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup bread flour
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • In a stand mixer, combine melted butter and sugars until they come together.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla, combine all together well.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flours, salt, baking soda and baking powder.
  • Add the flour mixture to the batter in the stand mixer and combine until flour is incorporated. Do not over mix.
  • Add in the chocolate chips. Combine all together.
  • Roll the cookies into small balls approximately 1 tbsp each and place on a baking sheet.
  • Place cookies on baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30 – 60 minutes. (Overnight is best!)
  • Bake cookies 2 inches apart in 350 degree oven for 13 – 15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, let cool for ~10 minutes before placing on a cooling rack. Try not to eat them all at once (good luck with that!)
